Can you imagine your city without oil?

When on your way to work, at work, shopping, at home. I mean think about all the things that you normally don't connect with oil, like refrigeration, pavement, traffic lights, computers and even the plastics, the polypropylene clothes and the rubber tires of the environmentalists bicycle. Not just the ability to drive but that as well and what it would mean for everything to move by human or horse if it had to be moved. All the things that are not only made directly out of oil like fertilizer, but things that can not be made without oil.Can you imagine your city without oil?
I can imagine it. Life would be simpler, yet difficult. We are so used to these things. If we couldn't do stuff this easily, then society would change drastically. Cities would not be as big as they are, as no one would want to walk or ride their horse across town. Society would change; the world would change. Can you imagine your city without oil?
I live in Houston, a city founded upon oil. Report Abuse

i can only dream

its not going to happen any time soon though

too much money and industry
Life would be so much simpler :)
Amish communities don't use oil and they are very happy.
well sooner or later there will not be any oil because its not enough and its hard to find so it will be harrobile if there is no oil cause there would not be technogloy and other things that we can use and can get bored
